LifeFood Organic in Los Angeles

I should have just called this post “ode to the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had”. Seriously, I was drooling over this raw vegan breakfast burrito I had at Lifefood Organic. I scarfed down the entire burrito and then wanted another one. I probably could’ve eaten like 10 of them. It was that good!

I can’t even remember the last time I had a breakfast burrito, much less a vegan one. They’re hard to come by! I don’t know why nobody had ever thought to make a vegan version before, but I’m so glad Lifefood Organic came along and fixed that problem.

Theirs came on a raw wrap and was filled with black beans, corn, lettuce, sprouts, spices, and a delicious cashew sour cream.

It was the perfect texture and flavor with the sauce dripping off the edges just the way I like it. Anyone who thinks raw vegan food is boring needs to think again! As a vegan, I’ve learned there are so many amazingly satisfying alternatives to the comfort food I know and love.

I used to eat breakfast burritos all the time in college but it’s been a while. You would think in southern California you’d be able to find them as a vegan since they’re so popular. But this was the first one I’d had in years. It was much healthier, made with all-natural organic ingredients and no hydrogenated oils, pesticides, or GMOs. But taste was not sacrificed at all. Two thumbs up!

I clearly was obsessing over this raw vegan burrito so I just had to share it with you all. I’ve been venturing out more into raw vegan food lately because it always leaved me feeling happy and keeps me satisfied for so long. If you’re in Los Angeles, Lifefood Organic offers a full raw vegan menu that includes everything from garlic pesto pizza to taquitos to burgers to snickers bars. I definitely recommend checking it out! Even if you’re not in LA, maybe it’ll give you some fun recipe ideas.

Update: Lifefood organic closed in 2019.

I go to USC, and with college life one doesn’t care if food is GMO or not, right? But being a college student I am very particular. I am a fan of farmer’s market and a full supporter of Organic farming. back in my hometown we have a far where we grow our own carrots and cauliflowers. Great blog!

Fight on! It’s good to hear from a fellow Trojan. That’s so lucky that you grew up somewhere where you could grow some of your own food. I’m from Georgia and it was the same way there. I’d go up to my grandparents to get fresh fruits and veggies from the farm. In L.A., I was a big fan of the Hollywood Farmer’s Market and the Silverlake Farmer’s Market. Both had great vegan options!
