Holiday Cheer

polar-bear-happy-holidays

Happy holiday season everyone! I’ve been full of holiday cheer today, because it’s December. It’s just that time of year. I get really into all things Christmas. I mean obsessive decorating and cookie baking with Christmas music playing 24/7. I got my first real Christmas tree ever this year. It’s a noble fir and it’s up right now in the living room. I can’t tell you enough how much I love the smell.

There’s just something about a real tree that feels really authentic.

I had a blast getting all new ornaments for it and I ended up sticking with a classic red and gold theme which really brightens up our living room. Since this is my first Christmas away from home, I’m trying to bring the holiday cheer into my new home here in Hong Kong as much as possible!

No matter where you are, I hope you’re enjoying the holidays and are filled with the festive spirit.

I’ve been trying to spread the holiday cheer here as much as possible. Partly because I feel like everyone needs a little bit of extra love and care around the holidays and party because I just really miss home and my family. When it comes to holiday cheer, I’ve really been working on not letting little things get to me. Especially when it comes to picking out gifts and planning for our trip to Amsterdam, I’m trying to be more laid back and go with the flow.

I really tend to be a perfectionist when it comes to the holidays.

So going with the flow can be a bit hard for me but it’s something I’m working on. I find that what really helps me is when I focus more on the people I’m around. Being more attentive to their feelings, making them laugh, and being extra thankful really just lightens people’s spirits. It’s about the experience this time of year and the connections we have that really matter!

I’m a firm believer that holiday cheer is contagious, so let’s make an extra effort to help it catch on this Christmas. For more holiday spirit, check out these 5 vegan christmas cookie recipes and these modern holiday garlands.
