Mantra Monday // Autumn Smiles

autumn smilesWe got the best news ever yesterday! My boyfriend and I will officially be going home for the holidays this year. We’ll be staying at my parent’s house for Christmas in the suburbs of Atlanta, where all my family gathers every year to celebrate. My brother and his girlfriend will be there, along with my grandparents, my brother and sister-in-law, and my niece & nephew. I’m so overwhelmed with joy and thankfulness right now! This quote definitely got it right, autumn is full of the loveliest smiles.

It’s been a really stressful past couple of weeks, because we didn’t know if we’d be able to make the trip. But now that we are officially going, I feel this huge sense of relief. I haven’t been home since I surprised my grandmother for her 80th birthday and my boyfriend hasn’t been home with me since he first met my family 3 years ago. So, needless to say, this visit has been a long time coming.

My parents visited us in Hong Kong in April and I saw my brother Sean in March and again in July. So I have seen my family, but only for short visits and it’s just not the same as going home to the house I grew up in. Our house holds so many precious memories for me and I’m such a big family person. I love my family so much and I can’t wait to spend more time with them and my boyfriend. It will be so much fun to all be under one roof!

So this Thanksgiving, first and foremost I’m thankful for my family and my boyfriend. I’m thankful for the opportunities I’ve been given, for the love I’ve shared, and for the places I’ve been. I’m thankful that I’m healthy. What are you thankful for?
