If there’s one thing I’ve learned so far in life, it’s that it’s important to find your tribe. What does this mean? Surround yourself with people that make you happy, inspire you, motivate you, support you, and care about you. Just cut out all the negativity. You don’t need to listen to criticism or let people bring you down. Those people are not worth worrying over. It’s the people who lift you up, help you follow your heart, and encourage you to reach for your dreams that really deserve you. You are special and deserve to have your own tribe of family & friends that will have your back no matter what.
Confession time: I used to be really self-conscious. And let’s be real, this feeling never completely goes away. I think we can all relate to the pressure to look a certain way, talk a certain way, act a certain way. But it’s when I started listening to the people in my life that really loved me that I learned nothing else matters but what I think about myself. You can choose to be your own worst enemy, or you can try your best to love yourself.
I’ve chosen love, and I hope you will too. The first step for me was to get out of my own head and let my tribe of loved ones beat out the voices in my head. All their encouraging words and unshaken faith in me really has helped me through the tough times these past couple of years. I’ve learned who is really in my tribe, and who isn’t. Think of it as your special inner circle. Who do you want in your tribe?
