DIY Advent Calendars

DIY advent calendars

It’s advent season! Growing up, we used to have a classic fabric advent calendar in the shape of a Christmas tree on our pantry door. Every morning, my brother and I would run downstairs and we’d take turns pulling the small, fabric shapes out and sticking them up on the tree. The countdown until Christmas really built up the excitement and anticipation. I’ve put together this list of 5 amazing, DIY advent calendars that you can make for a special festive countdown!

Just because I’m a “grown-up”, does not mean I’m missing out on advent calendar season. In addition to our pantry calendar, we also had chocolate advent calendars where you got a piece of chocolate in a different holiday shape every day. I think that’s really the way to go with advent calendars. I’m all about having chocolate every day leading up to Christmas.

Since we’ll be out of town for most of December though, I guess that means we’ll just have to double up on the days. Is that cheating, or do you think it’s acceptable? We’ve also got this epic Christmas-themed Lego advent calendar, which we brought back from London, that gives us a new Lego to build every day.
