Beach Bungalow

beach bungalow

This is exactly where I wish I could be right now. Tucked away in a little beach bungalow somewhere, lying on a hammock outside surrounded by palm trees and sunshine. I like relaxing summer days where I can just sit outside, read a good book, and listen to the sounds of nature. There’s something so quaint and comforting about the idea of a bungalow escape by the beach.

I’m a city girl, but when it comes to traveling I really like to find hidden gems. I enjoy being tucked away somewhere where I feel I can really connect with the local culture and authentically experience the place. Like when my boyfriend and I went to the Philippines last year, we took a 3 hour car ride up into the mountains to a little treetop villa surrounded by rice fields. No internet, no television, no technology period. And the locals who ran it actually lived in the nearby village. Then we spent the last couple of days by the beach.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Ever since that trip, I’ve been dreaming of doing it again. There are so many beautiful places in the world I want to see and people I want to meet and cultures I want to learn about. I think traveling is a precious and valuable gift because it lets you open your mind up to all the world’s possibilities. It keeps me inspired, on my toes, and in love with this life.

Here’s what I’d be doing at a relaxing beach bungalow:

  1. Sitting out on the porch with my feet up and a magazine in my hand
  2. Tying my hair up and taking a dip in the pool
  3. Taking a nice long bath after a day at the beach
  4. Putting on a diffuser and listening to the sounds of nature
  5. Gathering around the table to eat all the local fresh foods
