Green Detox Smoothie Bowl In yesterday’s post, I talked all about my New Year’s resolutions. The major takeaway was that I am all about positivity! A positive mind leads to a happy spirit and happier days in my opinion. And I am a firm believer that is never to late to hit “refresh”.

So, instead of dwelling on what I didn’t do last year, I am making positive changes in 2015. Starting with my first resolution, to eat more veggies. So how about a simple, 5 ingredient detox smoothie bowl packed with greens?

Green Detox Smoothie Bowl Frozen bananas make up the base, which I think gives it the perfect sweetness. And, of course, they are uber-healthy and delicious. 

I add in a big bundle of spinach for a nutritious boost of iron, vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids. Spinach is known to be a very nutrient-dense superfood. Your body will seriously thank you!

Green Detox Smoothie Bowl Ingredients Then I throw in some raw almond butter for added protein (fun fact: I am an almond butter fanatic). Toss in a couple of mint leaves for a refreshing kick, and add in the almond milk for creaminess.

There you have it, folks! A heaping, healthy bowl of deliciousness. I prefer a smoothie bowl to a regular smoothie, because there’s just something more satisfying about scooping it up with a spoon. It’s sounds silly but just try it. 

Green Detox Smoothie Bowl If you’re feeling extra ambitious, go ahead and top it off with some sliced nana coins, cinnamon, and raw cacao nibs. Feel free to get creative with the toppings. This is the fun part!


A delicious, superfood-packed green smoothie. Simple & easy with only 5 ingredients!
Recipe type: Breakfast, Snack
Cuisine: Raw, Vegan, Gluten-free
  • 2 medium frozen bananas
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 tbsp raw almond butter
  • a handful of mint leaves (about 15-20 leaves)
  • optional toppings: sliced banana, cinnamon, & cacao nibs
  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Transfer to a bowl.
  3. Top with your favorite toppings.
  4. Enjoy!
