Detox Green Juice

detox green juice #vegetarian #vegan

I’m a big juice person. Forget about juice cleansing, I mean the “sipping cold juice on a simmering hot, sunny day” type of juice drinking. Now that it’s over 80 degrees on the daily here in Hong Kong, I’ve been getting my juice on. I’m not shy of drinking all the fruits and veggies, so I whipped up this extra green, detox juice. For those of you that prefer drinking rather than eating your greens, this one’s for you!

I consider this a detox juice, because it has more veggies than fruit in it.

If you prefer sweeter juice, you can sub coconut water for the regular water or add in some extra apple. But I really wanted to keep this one extra green, so I packed the juice full of cucumber, baby spinach, green apple, lemon, and ginger. You can also try my green detox smoothie bowl made with banana, spinach, and mint, if you want a more complete meal.

Also, I’ve rounded up these 8 vegan spring detox recipes that all look super delicious.

I was busy working all weekend, but I got to participate in a vegan festival called Hong Kong Herbival. It was one of the first of its kind in Hong Kong, promoting plant-based food, makeup, clothing, and all sorts of green living products. I was so excited to see that the green movement has become more popular! Instead of feeling like I was such a minority, now I’ve made all sorts of plant-based friends. I hope to see plant-based eating continue to blossom.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this recipe for a delicious, detox green juice. I like to have a juice in the morning to kick start my digestive system for the day. It helps me to fuel up before a workout, since I don’t like eating big meals first thing in the morning.

    Hello Laura,

I just stumbled upon your tasty looking juice recipe, here, and, I too am a juice nut. I drink it on a daily basis, and I also do the occasional juice cleanse. But, not the kind you were probably referring to at the top of your article. I don’t starve while juice cleansing, I drink at least a gallon of green juice each day. 🙂 Love it! Good for detoxifying the body and getting loads of minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, and other goodies into me.

I’m glad the green movement is picking up, more and more, and hopefully some day a majority of the world will see the wisdom in going green. Thanks for sharing your green juice recipe, here, and I’ll be sure to pin it up to my website’s juice recipe board on Pinterest. Happy juicing! 🙂

      Hi Sean,

I’m totally on board with you! A lot of people have preconceived notions of juicing as starving yourself. I’ve done store-bought cleanses before, but found they’re way too calorie restrictive. Especially since I’m a big runner and am very active, I need much more calories than most people! I totally love making big juices at home and can easily down a 1 Liter juice 🙂 I agree they definitely help for the detoxing!

Glad you like this recipe 🙂 I’d be so thankful if you share it on your Pinterest board! I’ll be sure to check it out. Have a lovely week!
